Super Community Tree Giveaway!

The NJ Tree Foundation is planting 2,014 trees through a partnership with the 2014 NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee! If you are a resident of Atlantic, Bergen, Cape May, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, or Union Counties you are eligible to receive a free tree for your yard! We are giving away 200 trees per county to help reforest our state after the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy.

As a resident of one of these counties, you may pick between an ornamental or large growing tree. The NJ Tree Foundation promotes planting the right tree, in the right place, in the right way. When picking and planting a tree, keep in mind what size it will be when fully grown. Do not plant a large growing tree (50′-100′ tall) underneath utility lines, too close to existing trees, or in other areas where it may become an issue in the future. If your yard space is limited we recommend an ornamental tree (20′-30′ at maturity). Please review this visual description.

To get your free tree fill out your county’s application. Tree pick up information is included with the application. Please save this information and pick up your tree at the designated location on the designated date and time. Unclaimed trees will not be held and will become property of the giveaway host.
